Nature decrees that we do not exceed the speed of light. All other impossibilities are optional.

About This Quote

Albert Einstein is a very well-known scientist, but he also holds a very respected title in the book of quotations. In this quote, Einstein admits that it may be impossible to go faster than the speed of light. He believes that it is a natural law that we cannot go faster than light because there are incredible dangers in doing so. For example, when we reach speeds much faster than light, we would be much closer to the speed of gravity and much more likely to get sucked up by the black hole in our solar system. Another reason Einstein thinks we can’t travel faster than light is that the law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, and we would need an infinite amount of energy just to reach infinite speeds.
